when i saw this on the front page i was like "why did they rerelease this?", and then i looked at the date...

to be fr though i like the aesthetic of the original more, even with the note shapes, it felt more challenging and fun idk, this is a rhythm game where the hit sound is a fart maybe im thinking too much about this

THIS IS AWESOME, i like the physics for this actually, this is very ng mascot material, reminds me of gappy!, but way more simplistic (which its very good at!), the level design is great and very fun to go through, its NEVER frustrating which I TIP MY CAP TO YOU you managed to do that, its challenging but not frustrating and easy but not boring, very nice, the theming is amazing, and its very inspired and inspiring!!, honestly this just has a lot of good game design choices im not even sure i can list, for a few it has good coyote jump time, good fall speed, the arrows on the treadmills arent all flashing which would have made it very distracting, i noticed it has 2 types of levels, linear and kind of open, the linear ones are hard but it will make sure you dont miss a key while going through them, and the open ones are easier but have the keys more scattered, very nice balance, the health system is very generous which contributes to this being not frustrating, the space ship enemy actually gives you a lot of space to time your jump on him instead of being directly above your head at all times (kinda like the fishing boo in super mario world), and just good general speed for obstacles, nothing comes at you too fast or seem impossible to dodge, this was honestly delightful to play

some things i would like to add/change
-the fire balls in world 4 SOMETIMES hit me when im standing right under them, maybe they need to get a smaller hitbox or just fixed
-additional controls on keyboard!, like wasd and shift for jump (it already is just need the wasd)
-volume controls?, or a pause menu in general really
-maybe make the temporary blocks in world 4 respawnable, i mean i dont think you need them that much but it would still be nice i think
-i know its pretty short but a save function and level select would still be nice

thats all i think, this was very charming to play through, thanks for making such a great game :)

the sexual energy is strong with this one, ESPECIALLY the clown like come on you know im weak to clowns
this was a neat game though!, i dont think you can ever be worthy (thats the point of the game), and you should let that bum you out, you create because you enjoy doing it and thats what matters, if youre trying to live off or it though thats another story (god help you)

this feels like it has indepth mechanics that are not explained (like at all) to the damage system, i didnt realize (or i think i realize anyway) that the drawing you do (mostly the amount of ink used) is supposed to make your attacks better, that is not explained at all and im not sure if that is even correct lmao
the game itself feels like it tries to have depth but doesnt really (it doesnt matter how good the art you do on the paper is its just the used ink) but it doesnt really have to its meant to send a message in the form of a (somewhat functioning) game
i say somewhat functioning because theres also a very common bug that enemies will just NOT MOVE AT ALL sometimes and you can just kill them when theyre frozen like that, super common to happen and rips away any difficulty of the game because you can just move to a corner and they will somehow just freeze in place (even the boss hands do that which trivialies the boss so much, just stand in a corner unharmed and wait for him to be in spamming view)
im not faulting this game at all it has great graphics and a monochrome palette to sell the bleak reality it represents, it is afterall a game jam game i dont think many testing went into this (like i said it reall only in for the message lol)
nontheless great job on this!, good concept just needs way more tweaking and time

its a really really good puzzle game!, BUT PLEASE PLEASE ADD AN OPTION TO DISABLE THE FLICKERING ITS GIVING ME A MIGRAINE it makes playing it feel like such a chore, i would rate this 5 but the flickering is seriously unbearable, i know its "part of the aesthetic" but at least make it an option because this just makes me not wanna complete it

also when you try to make fast moves like right and then down or something it eats the input if you do it too fast, to try to make it instantly responsive instead of the small delay between moves it also makes it frustrating, if not then at least make it buffer and not just eat it or not do it at all

PeterMosevich responds:

Thank you this review! I was worried that those effects would annoy people. I'm currently working on making glitches optional. So far I updated this game with cancel move feature!

im gonna tell my kids this was super mario 64

for real though , music is fricking banger amazing for no reason at all, controls arent the best but it does what needs to do lol, the exploration aspect of this game is honestly amazing!!, surprisingly cool level design despite how rough everything looks, maybe add a hint arrow point to the nearest flower if you get really stumped? or map or any sort of help the place is pretty big, this was insanely charming though thank you for this

bannanalizard responds:

Thank you! and dont thank me for the music, i linked credits to the artists here

this is by far the most charming collab ive ever seen on here, this is a real experience you can have on this site, and im grateful for that

im grateful FOR YOU ALL!!!, thank you for making this site the beautiful place it is

its cute, doesnt really have much going for it though, its 1 level and its pretty easy, good effort though

ScrewdriverGames responds:

Thank you for your feedback! the game was made in a few days, I wanted to see if people enjoyed the gameplay and if I should continue development.

i really thought this was gonna be an actual game lmfao, it gave me a laugh at least, good art and concept though if only it wasnt ironic lol

i gotta say the game is REALLY pretty really nice work on the sprites!, and i thank you so much for making the music, ships and planets change look every round its always something that always bothered me in high score games how everything looks and sounds the same every single time, only gripe i have with it though is the gameplay itself, while the game looks super pretty on its own, the gameplay is just too basic, theres a lot of cool physics things you can do with the space theme, like making a gravity mechanic to some of the planets, maybe if you miss one it can redirect your path to a second planet, it just feels like "thats it?" having the game end as soon as you miss a shot, its super linear compared to it being in a non linear theme (space), maybe add a few options other than the 1 planet you have to hit, or make them scattered and have the lose condition be a timer of how long you've been in space without landing, maybe that changes the game A LOT but its just a suggestion, maybe its just meant to be crazy simple gameplay but theres def lost potential to it from having such a good art style
hope this helps in any way, maybe there will be a planet orbit 2 lol

just trying to appreciate the good things in life, and this site is one of them :)
